landlordHello, 4 years ago we rented this house on a farm in the country and moved our horse operation and horse rescue here. it was obvious that very little upkeep had been done for several decades to many of the buildings. there are 2 barns. the lower barn had been neglected for quite some time, with the support posts nearly rotted off, and the floor sagging. we going to put in stalls to keep stallions separated, and for handling convenience. the support posts i installed are only held in place by gravity and not nailed. this was all at my expense ($5,000) and at least 3 months of work. we have soaked a ton into this place. last week my daughter (20 yr old) came to me trembling and in tears. it seems that he(the landlord), has been following her around the farm while she was doing chores, and boasting of his sexual prowess, and that he grew up in the 60's and despite his age, he can keep up with the 20 year olds, and continuing despite her asking him to stop. she was tending to an injured mare under vet care in a stall, and he stood in the door with his arms spanning the entrance, berating us for spending money on this mare and offering to provide the bullet to put down the mare (my daughters favorite) he has been very intrusive into our personal privacy, and has confronted our friends over a political bumper sticker. i confronted him over his inappropriate activity ans conversation with my daughter. her a liar. i have since given him 60 days notice. i have remote camera equipment in the barns to keep track of ailing horses and for birthing monitoring. i was in the process of removing them, and he threw a fit, and said they were now his. if i have constructed things for the convenience of our operation, and our physical limitations, can i remove them and return the property to the original condition? 3 roundpens at about $1,000.00 each.....etc. i'm not about to sink over $25,000 and 4 years of work into this place just to have him snag it all for his benefit. he knows ZERO about horses, and has bought horses and just dumped them on us without contributing a dime for thier feed and upkeep. am i just HOSED????
