We live with roommates in their home. They asked us to live here to help them out with their mortgage because we had to move. We moved in with them in August, and we've been paying rent monthly, but we did not sign a lease or rental agreement. Now, they're wanting us to sign one with a bunch of rules that are above and beyond our means. We don't want to sign it, especially since the agreement includes this "At any time the owners of the household may request you to leave if property is not taken care of.". It's been our understanding that since we've been paying rent, and we've established residency (we get mail here, we pay rent, and we have our belongings here), that we need to be given a 30 day notice if they want us to leave. Is that right?![]()
