    Default restaurant owner deducting tips

    Owner deducted a portion of my tips earned above what I am required to tip out to the bussers and bar because she was mad about having to do some extra work on a busy night. Can she legally just take tips out of what is owed to a server?

    It is unlikely that this deduction is legal. Contact your local office of the US Department of Labor - Wage and Hour Division. They can help you further.
