My daughter is 20 years old and worked at a convenience store as a cashier. An ABC agent sent a 17 year old girl in to buy alcohol and my daughter did not card her and sold her the alcohol. The agent then came in and told her she had failed the sting operation and she would have to go to court and would likely be charged with a misdemeanor and be fined along with the company that employed her. She was let go by the company she worked for and is waiting for her court date.
My question is would it do any good to hire a criminal lawyer? We know she made a mistake by not carding the girl the agents sent in, but it was not an intentional act of selling to a minor. My daughter is going to college and trying to get into the FBI after graduation, we are hoping this won't effect her future job aspirations.
Does anyone have any advice?
