A quote is not something set in stone, it's an estimate, or so I thought. It's not legal but you would have to come forward and tell someone.

I am in a quandry between my morals and my job. My question is
Is it legal to bill a customer from a quote of 100 hours when the comp only
Put in 80 hrs fixing the vehicle. In other words. Seems we are quoting high and
Always coming in lower but holding the customer to the quote.
This is killing me inside
Thanks

Who would I speak with. I am now told to quote a job at 120 hrs knowing
It should only take 80 or 90. I asked the service mgr today what if we come in
Under the quote, which I know we will, will the customer be charged for the hours
We worked on his equipment. He said a quote is a quote and that's what they will be billed
That's an additional 3200.00 to the customer and we won't even be working on his equipment
Anymore. I need some factual answers before I move forward and have to know if this is legal
Or illegal in Virginia
Thanks
