    Default Question about divorce in Texas

    My brother and his wife have been married for six months and she just left him a week ago. She says she went to a lawyer to file for a divorce already. She is asking my brother to pay for an apt. she rented plus all her bills and expenses for 3 months. Does he have a legal obligation for any of this? There are no kids and she never worked a day of the marriage.

    Did you consult a divorce lawyer regarding this? If not, I would suggest you to visit Seigman, Starritt-Burnett & Sinkfield Law Firm, PLLC. They are quite renowned law firm in Texas.

    He has no obligation, and we have pretty good divorce laws, compared to California.
