It is illegal to tase someone in THEIR home, if they are hitting you?

Yesterday my daughter and I went to visit my father. When we arrived it was sleeting really hard so I removed my daughter from the car and took her to the door, knocked, they let her in, and I returned to the car to unload our stuff. Upon entering my dad's house my dad started yelling at me asking why my daughter wasn't being more friendly, wouldn't give him a hug, etc. He then called her a spoiled little S**T, and I went off. We got up in each others faces and he pulled back to hit me. I said go ahead, and you will never see her again. He then switched hands with his coffee cup (full of coffee) and hit me in the head, then in the ear with it. Shattering it, and taking a huge chunk out of my ear. He then proceeded to hit me in the face, (blacked my eye, broke my nose) head, and stomach. I got a few shots in which forced him off of me enough for my step mom to step in between us.
I grabbed my daughter, and the stuff we had brought in and I got out the door, put my daughter and our stuff in the car. Once I got in the car, I realized that I didn't have my glasses on and had to go back and get them or we wouldn't be leaving. I wasn't about to go back in without some sort of protection, so I grabbed my Stun Baton and went back inside, hoping to just be able to grab my glasses and get out with no trouble. My dad saw me though, and came at me, grabbing a wooden bar stool and raised it up to hit me with it. So I stuck the baton to his abdomen and lit him up. It knocked him back, but then he came at me again. So I shocked him again, he kept coming, so I did it again. I finally managed to get out the door. So I ran to my car and drove just down the street to the nearest gas station. I called 911 and told them that I had just been assaulted and that I needed my glasses from the house so I could drive. Once they arrived and saw the damage that was done to me, they went to my dad's house asked him what happened (He admitted to hitting me with the coffee cup first) and they took him to jail. He is still there now with a $50,000 bail for Felony assault, but he is pressing charges against me for shocking him with a stun baton. Now this baton does not shoot out any barbs, you have to touch the person with it for it to work. I don't have a carry permit or anything like that. I just bought it online and have been keeping it in my car for protection. I'm just curious if he is actually going to be able to press charges, and if it will go anywhere.

P.S. When I wrote my statement I left out the part where I tased him, because I was scared of getting arrested. I had my daughter there with me and didn't have any one to take her. The responding officer did not find the taser either.
