Men hittting women

I don't think men should hit women so please don't misunderstand me. I just think that it's so taboo that it doesn't occur to some men when it would be understandable.

A 50 year old man was stabbed by his 50 year old girlfriend who then wouldn't let him out of the house so he called the police. So far she hasn't been charged with any type of assault, just felony criminal confinement.

I personally think he should have just knocked her into a wall and walked out.

He could have legally hit her in self defense but you may wish to consult with a law firm in mississippi to make sure that is legal.

Very controversial topic to say the least!

It is certainly one of those gray areas that society and individuals purposefully ignore but my initial response is that in many instances we see that it is morally justifiable if acting out of self-defence as written within the letter of the law in many legal frameworks.

However, the fact that the higher authorities - i.e. the executive and judiciary - will always ignore this because they hold personal prejudices whereby women are always victimised and not vice-versa. Thus, though it is permissible in a legal sense, society's view on it will mean that it will never be justified - as we live in a culture where women hitting men is near inconcieveable whereas the opposite is almost a norm.

Very hard to put an answer on it - and would be interesting to see your views on it !
