Hi. I am new and have a question. A frined of mine was backing out of her driveway and backed into a car that was parked in the street on the opposite side of the road. This is in a subdivison. The officer said that the other person had the right to park in the street just not up on the sidewalk. Now this other car was blocking my friends driveway. The officer said she should have drove through her yard to get out that you can park anywhere on the road just as long as you are not parked partway on the sidewalk. I thought this sounded obsurd and trying to find out the law on this. Thanks for you input.
the cop is right. you can't block a driveway, but the car was on the other side of the street. Friebd with ticket needs to learn to drive or go across and ask to have car moved as it is causing difficulty getting out. No reason to have hit the other vehicle.
