    Default Alimony ?'s

    Hello All,

I need to find out if anyone can shed some light on a question. First off, here's my situation. Married 11 years, 1 child(8). No longer want to be married. we're not compatible any longer and fuss and fight about everything. I'm just tired of living like that and want to make a change. There is no fault on either party, no adultery, or any kind of abuse. Wife is on disability and collects around 900 per month for her and around 500 for our son. I gross around 5000 per month. per the SC child support calculator it looks like i'll end up paying around $720 per month child support. everything will be split(she'll most likely get more assets, which i'm fine with). She says i'll end up paying her alimony. Since there's no fault, does that sound right. I have done some reading and I'm find excerpts where if the two incomes are vastly different, the larger income may have to pay. I'm just reaching out to see if anyone has first hand experience with this.

    Thanks

Yes, you will likely be ordered to pay Alimony, as least for some limited period of time. However, note that it is deductible off your gross before the calculate child support.
