I think we all know how bad the collectors
skirt and break the FDCPA rules.
I have read a lot on how they are not allowed
to specifically talk to other people regarding the
reason they are calling but what I am not clear on
is if they can identify themselves by saying something
like ...
This is XYX A DEBT COLLECTOR. THIS CALL IS
FOR SO AND SO. PLEASE HAVE SO AND SO CALL 1-800
AND REFERENCE FILE NUMBER
and leave that on the answering machine for anyone to
answer and hear.
Especially if a person works from their home and the home
work number is the same, and people other then the
houshold members would be able to receive and hear
that message?
