Can anyone tell me what PA law allows deer hunters to hunt from the road with a loaded weapon. Not getting out of a vehicle and shooting, actually standing in the road, turning 360 degrees, hunting in all directions in the road and on the berm of a public road (it is a twp dirt road)

Hunting off the side of a public road, dirt, gravel, concrete,etc,.... not legal

thank you for the game commission site...the problem is the state police tell us it is perfectly legal for a person to stand and hunt in the road...which agency has the higher authority? Can everyone or anyone do this? Is there some special dispensation?? thank you.

Yes, it is legal to hunt from a roadway in PA. Just as long as the person is standing on the roadway and or birm when they see the game. It is illegal to hunt from the roadway while driving down a road see the game(deer) and then jump from your vehicle and shoot. In this case u must be so many yards off the road.
