Clearing Criminal Record

In 1992 I was arrested for 3 counts of burgrary and related mindimeanors. At the time i had just turned 18 years old. I plead guilty and was sentenced to 4 to 23 months in berks county prison in December of 1993. Since then i have not so much as gotten a speeding ticket. I am married, have a 12 year old son, and have been steadily employed.
As a result of my criminal record i have just been denied access to a correctional ficility to do my job as an industrial electrician. I fear that this will be the case more and more now that we are recquired to pass a criminal background check to work at schools, state buildings and such, wich is a huge part of our work.
My question is, is it possible to have my record erased ? Who could you recommend ? What would something like this cost ?
