Is there anything illegal about pretending to be another person on the phone?
A friend of mine wants me to pretend to be his boss on the phone for job references. Can I face any legal complications from impersonating someone?
Thanks!

Unless you are playing a practical joke on someone, I would say that it could be seen as a mild form of identity theft. More importantly, in my mind, would be whether or not your friend has your back if things go awry. What,s in it for you?
