The PA Motor Vehicle Code does not specifically address the use of decals or stickers on the rear glass. There are vague references to the obstruction of visibility however.

The code does stipulate that every car have 2 rear view mirrors. As long as you have the 2 side mirrors and the surface area of each mirror is at least 20 square inches (4"x5" for example) you are not required to have a mirror inside the vehicle nor would you have to keep the rear window free of obstruction to vision.

r4back, you are giving out bad information. There have been drastic changes to the inspection regulations within the last couple of years. NO tint on the rear window, NO opaque decals and there is a requirement for a rear view mirror now. Search google for PA Title 67

    § 175.147. Glazing

With the exception of the materials in paragraph (3), signs, posters or other materials, whose design prevents a driver from seeing through the material, may not be placed on the windscreen or a side wing or side window so as to obstruct, obscure or impair the driver’s clear view of the highway or an intersecting highway.

Under FMVSS No. 205, these restrictions do not apply to the rear side windows, rear wings or rear window of vehicles subject to this subchapter, if so equipped.

Sounds like you can put them on the rear window
