Yes, of course they can. Do you have vacation time coming or are they just paying you? It doesn't feel very good that they don't trust you to show up and work the entire time but they have probably had bad experiences in the past.

I handed my two week notice on Thursday morning and the company called me today (Friday) and told me to take the next two weeks off with full pay? I am not going to a rival company, and have had a exemplary attendance and reviews during my five years there. This does not make sense and can the company do this?

also, unless you are in a union , employers in PA can fire you for anything that doesnt violate the eeo law
