Is it legal for my spouse to put hidden cameras and computer monitoring software in my home without my consent

No you don't understand. He is not living in the house anymore. He has left me and my children for another woman. He wants something damaging on me because I called the police on him when he threatened me. According to police he can come back in to retrieve his belongings which he did when I wasn't home.
I have covered this subject somewhere before lol. I will explain again.......................
The concept of privacy stems from the 4th Amendment to the Constitution. That is, the government or an agent thereof (police) cannot specifically position a surveilance camera on you without a search warrant which requires probable cause and a Judge's OK. You must be believed to be involved in criminal activity. OK? Here, the key word is GOVERNMENT.
On the other hand, there are similar actions by PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS WHICH ARE LEGAL. Your friend is NOT government. For instance, your friend (or spouse in this case) OR even a stranger can call you on the phone and tape the conversation without your knowlege. THIS IS PERFECTLY LEGAL. Your spouse can enter your common home and place video cameras wherever she likes and it is legal.
Now, you may have a civil suit in some cases for invasion of privacy, but generally, you enjoy little to NO personal privacy when you marry or take in a lover or border. Good Luck!
