I work for a hospital and they just recently created a new policy that restricts employees in specific units (areas/jobs) to utilize their accrued PTO (vac/personal days) during the summer months. The new policy states that you can no longer use 40 hrs. of PTO during these months if you are part-time (a similar restrictions was implemented for full-time employees). This was not one of the policies/conditions when I excepted the part-time position. Is this legal? If not what are my rights and where can I find written information that I can present to my employer?
