Is it legal for a mortgage lender to have a representative forcibly enter into a secured property and change the locks? Foreclosure was not in place and no keys were provided to the owner.
Itislegal to enter if there was an event of default (breach) by the homewowner making the lender feel insecure. No doubt the morgage papers have language giving the lender the right to enter upon a breach.
