Im 18, my girlfriend is 17, 18 in two months. She was born in Texas with no father on her birth certificate. Her real dad showed up 2 years ago and put his name on the birth certificate and decides she gets to live with him after making her spend almost all her life in foster care. Now hes trying to cut off her life with the outside world and make her go to a college of his choosing after she graduates high school. She has no choice in life if she stays. Please dont think were trying to get her out of school because she wants to finish and i want her to as well since i finished last year. She plans on re-enrolling once she turns 18 in october to finish out high school and then we send her to a college of her choosing. I have a job and can support, also she wants a part time job during school. I just need to know if we can make this work and if her dad can do anything legally right now or if it would just be better if we wait untill shes 18 in october and can do whatever she wants. Please help me make the best decision to make this right in the eyes of the law.
