Is it legal to take a vacation to new york from South carolina and then choose to leave the person there and not bring them home?
I have never heard of any criminal charge like that. If the person left stranded was a minor and the other person was a guardian left with the responsibility of taking care of the minor, criminal charges could come from that. Department of social services could get involved and get the police to file charges. Also, the person left stranded could possibly file a civil suit for punitive damages. Like the cost of travel and emotional distress.
