I applied for and received and NYS conceal and carry pistol permit while a resident of the state. I am now a resident of another state, though I still maintain a season residence in NYS

I learned today that as a non resident of the state, I may not purchase a hand gun.

Would any one know if as a non resident of the state I may be the joint registered owner of a handgun?
