We have a nice size attic in out house. We finished it and made it into a master bedroom for our selves. It would be easy enough to rip all the sheet rock down and turn it into a regular attic again but my husband added a very nice bathroom. I see web sites telling people to use the room you have such as the attic to add living space to your home which we did. We also don't want to sell at this time. But I have also seen on web sites saying it is absolutely illegal to put a bathroom in an attic. Is this true? If I wanted to sell the house and we had to have the living space add to the CO couldn't we pay some kind of fine but still leave it in or do you have to rip the whole thing out because it would NEVER be approved?![]()
I don't see why you would have to call this an attic. You made it into another floor in your home, so I would think you could put a master bath in there. Instead of selling a 1 or 2 story home, you are selling a 2 or 3 story home.
