    Is it legal in the state of New York for the electric company to shut off your electric in the middle of winter?

    it is illegal for your power to be shut off in winter if you need your electric to ignite your heat , also illegal if you have electric heat.

    I believe the law is similar in PA. That is, YOUR utility provider with knowlege cannot cause your death by freezing you.
