i work(ed) at pathmark supermarket and i was sent home from work today for calling out sick with the flu and was bed ridden for 2 days. i went into work today because i was scheduled from 4-9 and the managers both told me i wasn't able to take a day off within the first month because of training (i just started). they didn't attempt to call me or tell me this u until i the trip to pathmark. i made the call yesterday to call out sick and there was no problems when i talk to the manager or my coworkers in the deli department. i work in the deli so im dealing with people and food constantly and i didnt want to get anybody sick and when i made the statement to my manager "so do i come into work and get workers and customers sick so you can fire me then?" she replied by saying "howd you get to work today?" i was just wondering if what they're doing is legal?
