Default Is this considered police misconduct?

My son died in Nevada in 2004. When I found out,his sisters, uncle, aunt and I left and got to Nevada in 15 hours. The deputy that handled the case knew we were coming. When we got there we were denied viewing the body and purposely prevented from doing so by the deputy. My sons wife did NOT say we couldn't. I'll leave it at this for now as it is a very long story. Will provide more info if needed.

Just going on what you've posted, this doesn't sound like misconduct to me. There are several reasons for not allowing family members to view the deceased. I've had to do this at times during my career. Never is it a matter of trying to traumatize the family anymore during this difficult time.

We were given no reason, stalled for almost 5 hours and lied to. The deputy knew we were coming and could have stopped us from having to make the 15 hr. trip in horrible weather conditions had that been the case. The funeral home also threatened me with arrest if I stepped foot on their property! The deputy asked me how I found out about my sons death as soon as I told him who I was.
