Hi, I have searched google extensively and cannot find any information about the laws and regulations surrounding ETG testing specifically for court ordered random UA testing in hennepin county, Minnesota. I am required to call a random UA hotline every day and if they site my color (red, green, etc) then I have to go to the government center in downtown minneapolis to take a random UA. I am on UAs specifically because of alcohol. My questions are:
1) Is ETG testing done in MN for court-ordered UAs?
2) Is everyone who is required to call the SAME RANDOM UA COLOR HOTLINE given the same type of UA testing?
I do not want to ask my PO obviously because I do not want to draw any suspicion.
1. Yes, ETG testing is given for people who are court ordered to completely abstain from alcohol.. Do you take your UA service through RSEden? Do you have to fill out a form with your social and sig.? If so, you should be able to see the boxes they check for the testing they are doing for your UA. For instance, I was on probation for a DWI related offense and the ETG and 5 panel boxes were checked. I strongly strongly believe you are being ETG tested.
2. No, the number does not determine the type of testing... the color assigned to you does.. The people given the same colors are probably given the same type of testing. I'm not 100% sure but that's my guess. I was in DWI Court and each "phase" (1 as most intensive and 3 as least intensive) was assigned the same two colors, etc. So it's the type of testing and FREQUENCY in a month.
Unless your PO is a dick, I'm sure he or she would be fine fielding any questions you have about UA testing. I asked a ton and I wasn't fooling around or anything, just curious how the UA lottery worked. I also know the colors are all preplanned for the month on a calendar so the PO isn't just sitting around dreaming out how to get you (unless he randomly calls you and requests you go in). Certain colors have different frequencies per month. Stuff like that.
Good luck on staying clean!
