Electronic cigarettes in bars

Are electronic cigarettes legal to use in Springfield bars? Chicopee? I was recently informed at a bar located in Chicopee that he could be fined for allowing use in the bar. He said he was told this was a law because it is a tobacco product due to the nicotine content. Does anyone have further information on this subject?

The people who told him he couldn't smoke were misinformed. There is no reason why electronic cigarettes can not be smoked in public places. They just don't want to see anyone smoking, period!
