to make a long story short I am a janitor and did some work replacing and ac unit in a tenants comdominum. The owner of the unit agreed to pay $150.00 labor and a $200 disposal fee for the old unit. The owner does not occupy the condomoium his son does. The son on several occations has ran into me and said "Oh I have to get you that check" well it never happen. I sent the son a regested letter reciept requisted stating that the bill was 60-days past due as a reminder, that was last month. Still no payment after 90-days. So I am assuming that I need to file a small claims suite against the father who owns the unit and authorized the repairs. Can I file for anything more than the $350 owed to me. Damages or any sort? does the case have to be file in the town the work took place or can I file in the nearest court house to me. I assume I am correct in filing again the father in NY, rather than the son in Boston.
