Hi I have had my vehicle impounded because I let my out of state plates expire. I am not living in MA, but working here on a temporary assignment. When I got my out of state plates current and went to the impound yard to claim my vehicle. They said, the Police had told them, they were not allowed to return it to me till I had registered it in MA. Is this legal?
I own a home in Ohio where my current tags and DL are.
Can anyone help me out here.
no; it is not legal. the tow yard is wrong.
As long as the vehiclle is legally regestered and insured they must release the vehicle to you.
it does not have to be regeister in ma.
