Hired as a second shooter, I had an agreement with the photographer, I may use the images, but give her 60day to post them for the bride and groom to see from her first, I gave her a copy of the images I shot and edited, then I waited 6months, used some on a brochure, and some on my web site. ( I must add the photos I shot were amazing) the brochure is very cool, well the photographer saw the brochure and threw a fit harassing and threatening me for days. Telling me not to use them. I reminded her she always lets the second shooter use the images, why was this different? She just kept telling me, you are not to use them. If I am legally wrong I will be happy not to use them. I just need to know if I have a right to use them. We did not a any form of written contract.
If a photographer does not allow the second shooter to use the images they shot then the photographer will provide the memory card, and then hand it over to the photographer. I even ask her if she wanted me to shoot on one of her cards, she said no, I dont care what you do with them just give me 60days before using them.
