I went to a Used Car Dealer and gave him a deposit of $1000. I also signed a deposit receipt stating as below
Now having said that I would like get a refund of the deposit as I don't want the car as I suspect that the car has a rolled back odometer. But that dealer is refusing to give the money back saying that it's not refundable. I just wanted to know if I have a way to get my money back and if what that dealer is doing is legal.Code:Non Refundable Deposit Agreement Both parties agree that customer has tendered a non refundable deposit to the dealer to hold the above described vehicle.Dealer will hold and not sell to another party the above described vehicle.Dealer will hold the above described vehicle for a period of 2 calendar weeks from today's date. Both dealer and customer agree that deposit is non refundable and non-transferable.
