I got arrested for driving after license was suspended for unpaid fines. The cop fond ONE rolling paper and the tiniest little piece of a hand rolled marijuana cigarette. I was charged with OAS possession of a useable amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Would this stop me from becoming a corrections officer in Maine? Sucks that this happened one week after I turned 18!
This is what it says in the application.
D. Chapter 45, Drugs, including, but not limited to: Unlawful or Aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs; Unlawfully furnishing scheduled drugs; Unlawful possession of scheduled drugs; Acquiring drugs by deception; Stealing drugs; Cultivating marijuana; Illegal importation of scheduled drugs; Unlawful possession, unlawful trafficking, or unlawful furnishing of synthetic hallucinogenic drugs;

Almost 30 years ago, 1984 or 1985, I was 20 or 21 years old I think, I came to visit Louisiana and caught a misdemeanor charge with two other girls I met while visiting. This was my first charge at the time. The bond as I recall was $250. The other girls bonded out, but I could not and thus spent I think 4 months in jail. I did not plead guilty when arraigned the next day and only saw my public defender once. Then, I went before the judge after four months and was released. No one told me what I had and I was told to go back to Michigan which I did. In 1993, I did actually get a felony charge in michigan and that was 20 years ago. I am seeking an expungement for this,but I am unable to find out if there was a conviction in Louisiana 29 years ago. I would have remembered if I plead guilty, I just could not bond out. Since Louisiana is a closed state it is virtually impossible to see if or if not I have a misdemeanor charge in Louisiana. Is it possible because I could not bond out, there is no charge? Thoughts!!!

Thank!!!!
