Can you please tell me what our options are
Do we need a lawyer,
Here is the situation:

• We hired a company to put siding on our house.
• The work is 90% complete and some areas look very bad and need to be corrected. We complained to the company and have pictured dated for each time we complained.
• We had an agreement that we would not pay until the entire job is completed 100%.
• The company sent us an invoice on 5/27 with an incorrect amount. When I called about the incorrect amount the company stated we signed a document stating the work was complete. We requested to see the document and they did fax it to us. The paper that was signed stating the work was complete is NOT my husband’s signature.
• On 6/7 The company proceeded to place an intent to place a lien against the house on our door (dated 6/6).
• We then received an updated invoice for the work on Saturday 6/8.
• On 6/10 I was researching and started to request the permit for the mortgage company. I found that the company was and is not licensed to do siding in Aurora (they have a D-2 Roofing License only). And they NEVER requested a permit to do the work.
• The lien states that they completed a re-roofing job, which they did not.
• I was told by the City of Aurora – “Do not Pay” and contact a lawyer.
