    Default Binding verbal settlement

    In CT, can an atty. verbally accept a settlement offer in a civil rights case without the written consent of the client, nor the client's understanding that it is verbally binding?

    In my mind it is the result of the client giving that attorney Long term Power of attorney to act on behalf of client- without that it's ify to me.
