As long as the knife itself is legal than there are no problems. The knife cant be a switchblade or over 4 inches long.
My friend told me that its illegal to carry a knife in your car. I have a knife, just a normal knife, not a switchblade, inside the little drawer under my radio. Would this be considered a concealed weapon? I dont think so, but i wanted to find out.

"awesomeness" says no switchblade, and ONLY a FOUR inch blade? Really. That is no longer than my scout knife. So a basic hunting knife is ILLEGAL. I can tell you 30% of all Colo citizens in the Western slope carry 6-8 inch hunting knives in their pickup.
It's been cited in article I read that 47 million (!) US citizens have some sort of reportable and accessible criminal record. The Heritage Foundation who does rankings of nations measuring "freedom", the US has fallen into a category of "less free". I believe it. The government and our representatives in the name of "safety" (and keeping law enforcement and the prison industrial complex employed and expanding) has succeeded in making us all children of government parents.
You could always get a concealed weapon permit, then you don't have to worry about it at all.
If you have your hunting knife on you while you're out hunting (or GOING out hunting), it is not the same as carrying the knife with you all the time. Keep it out of your reach (like the gun) and there shouldn't be any issue.
The laws on carrying weapons in motor vehicles is actually fairly straight forward. If you go to one of the stores that sell hunting items, they will know the legalities of these kinds of things.
Obviously, if you live outside city limits, the law is much more lenient than it is in downtown Denver. Location makes a big difference.
