I just bought a home in Nova Scotia and am at risk of losing my job before closing. Can the seller of the home sue me if my financing falls throuhg at this piont?
Yes, unless your purchase was made conditional on your financing going through. But unless the seller really loses anything, why would they bother? They have a duty to mitigate their loss, by trying to find some other buyer. So the only loss will be if they cannot find some other buyer at the same price or lose money in the time it takes to sell. They can't sue you for the full purchase price, unless they can prove it is impossible for them to sell it to anyone else.
And they will know that you have no job and are not the type of person that is going to be able to pay a big judgment even if they won.
