I was a member of a forum and I made some rather controversial posts. I left the forum and I deleted these posts but they were saved. Unfortunately I shared my personal information with another person.
Now this person has detailed my personal information along with these quotes in a blog. I'm sorry to admit I said such things. But, this person has also stated in emails to me that he is going to make up stuff to make me seem even worse. Also in these emails, he also states that he wants to give me problems and make my life difficult and tear apart my reputation. And, he has also said he is going to impersonate me.
Unfortunately, I was in an email conversation for a while so that will probably work against me but I have stopped that now and told him to stop. Do you think I have a case?
(additional)
So far the blog only states that I was a member of the forum but in the emails he says he will say more. (And I'm very sure he will as he has done this to another person before) So far it only states I was part of the forum so that's true and I know I don't have a case for defamation but if he starts making up stuff and portraying me as a potential or actual criminal then I'm wondering if I could have defamation.
I indirectly damaged the this person X by telling person Y about him and that person Y created a blog about person X. Since person Y is anonymous person X cannot make a blog about him but he can make a blog about me. I had no control over what person Y said or did.
