Hi, and thanks in advance for your help.
My mother passed away suddenly, and her will was written the day before she died. In the will, she left her entire estate to me, and went on to say that she planned to commit suicide. However, the medical examiner has ruled that her death was not a suicide. We have learned that my brother plans to contest the will on the grounds that she was not of sound mind when she wrote it.
This raises a few questions, obviously, but I’ll try to limit them to the basics. First, would he appear to have grounds? Second, would his legal costs get paid from the estate? Also, how long can this process take, and what is his time limit for filing a contest?
Thanks again.![]()
