    Default expensive, unwanted guest

    is it illegal to kick someone out of my house? they've been here for 3.5 months rent and utility free and is receiving her mail here...

    Of course it is legal to kick them out. Why wouldn't it be? Are they a relative? Are they a spouse? I'm confused as to why you think you can't.

    it is a relative. they're not paying rent or utilities and there was not a formal agreement of tenancy. they are receiving mail there and it's been about 3.5 mos. i just thought there was some sort of legal proceedings that have to take place due to the length of time and the fact that their mail is being delivered to my home

    You have to evict them because you allowed them to be established resident by receiving mail, creating there homestead. Besides making things "really uncomfortable" for them, without threats of harm or damage to there property.

    Have you asked them when then want to leave or whether they want to leave or not? Will not it be better to at least ask them for once before doing something harsh?
