I need to know if it's legal, and what needs to be done to assure legality in the case of this happening. Thank you!

Additional Information - State is OKLAHOMA.

Probably the real quesition to ask would be if there is anything essential that a sixteen year old would need a parent in order to accomplish. For instance, if the 16 year old is arrested, who in that area is responsible? If the parent is still responsible, the kid can't go anywhere yet.

What is the legal age for emancipation, in Oklahoma, where there is no marriage involved?

It also depends on the type of relationship the two people have. If they are just friends for example then I see no real problem.

There may be a problem if the 16 year old is below the age of consent in that state. If so, the 16 year old cannot enter into contracts or make agreements. Responsibility for the 16 years old would fall to parents or the adult who has legal custody, as far as I know.
