the winter right now in Henderson, Nevada? Also, I am homeschooling my child does that protect us? To boot the gas co can't receive calls most the time nor messages due to high phone traffic, so you can't even get a live person to authorize an extension. this happened to me friday and yest morn, at 1:30 pm they gave me till 5 pm to have 100 posted in their office kinda far away, or else shut off this am. i owe 233. my neighbor owes 240 and was granted an extension till fri yesterday. 1 1/2 yrs ago my ex outofstate made my pymt over phone from 4000 miles away, he got a routing didget wrong two pymts in a row, they never notified me and just put me on a cash only pay. i can't call and pay w/c.c., check or nothing because of a innocent mistake. i can't get there till later today whats my options? they threatened cut off this am.

I would check with an attorney or legal aide first. Each state is different. I lived in MI and it is illegal to to turn off someone's utilities during the winter months there as that person may freeze to death.

In NY it is illegal to cut off the any utilities during the winter months, but I don't know about Nevada.
I would get in my car and start driving to make that payment. I don't think that home schooling has anything to do with your case.

The law varies from state to state. I don't know what the law is in Nevada so you can best check with a consumer rights group in your area.
