Not in most cases. I believe in limos etc it is allowed. But, i know someone who was rideing in a cab that got pulled over. The empty can on the floor of the cab cost him a 90 dollar ticket.

I bet limousine service have special license allowing them to have liquor in the passenger compartment, which is further away from the driver, than it is in a regular vehicle.

It depends since they are controlled by the state law, rather than federal law, and vary from state to state. As far as I know butte in Montana doesn't have container laws and there are also few exceptions.

I know that in Florida for example it is not legal. In some states it is legal.

Im in wisconsin, and I know it is illegal for there to be any open containers at all in the vehicle. Since we are the drunkest state...
