I pay for cable internet and have a wireless network. I share my network with people in my building. Some free and some help pay for cable bill 20.00 a month is this wrong.

If you have wireless and then you can give anyone access to your wireless network so yes it is legal.

Sharing with the use of wireless is a nice way to help other people, the most important there as long as u will pay the bill in a right amount then it is legal.

NO it isn't illegal to share your wireless. You are paying for the service so you can share it with whoever you want. It is nice that some pay you to help with the bill.

It is not illegal, but it may violate the Terms of Use of most Internet Service Providers. Some ISPs are friendly to wireless sharing and others are not. Comcast and Verizon in the Boston area prohibit sharing an internet connection wirelessly to "third parties" - those not "on the premises." Speakeasy encourages sharing their internet connection wirelessly.
