Is it Legal to take back a vehicle you lent to someone for a written period of time, and they refuse to return it. I plan on removing from their apt. garage. I pay the insurance, have title and keys.

If you own the vehicle and they werent making payments and you can prove you own the vehicle I would assume you can take it back. However you can not go into their garage and take it. I would call your local police department and ask them to go with you to retrieve the vehicle.

Yeah, you can do that. However I would recommended you to go buy the law instead of taking the initiative by yourself in order to avoid potential conflicts.

Thank you for your answers. I also pay the lease on the apt. and it is in my name, but I do not live there. Are the police still required?

It seems to me that you are completely in your legal right to take back the car as you are the legal owner of it.
