can you be legally fired for comments made on myspace or facebook? why doesn't freedom of speech come into play if this is true?

Yes. there may be freedom of speech but there are limits to it. you cannot post libelous remarks on facebook because it is a public forum. if you said something against your company then there is basis to fire you. however, there is also due process. you have to get a warning first before you get fired.

I think yes we can legally fired for comments made on face-book. Behind my point of view the main reason is because face-book is social network site. Everyone can use face-book freely.

Depending on what state you work in, employers may fire you for no good reason. I am pretty sure that if you wrote something on Facebook that they didn't like, they would be more than happy to get rid of you.
